Why These Recipes Work After 55
These recipes are built around the way I actually like to eat: simple whole plant foods, plenty of beans, whole grains, vegetables, fruit, and other ingredients that make everyday plant-based eating easier.
You don’t need complicated recipes or hard-to-find ingredients. The goal is food that tastes good, is practical to make, and fits into a healthy lifestyle after 55.

Simple Meals for Everyday Life
Plant-based eating doesn’t need to mean spending hours in the kitchen. Many of the meals I make regularly are built from a few basic ingredients—beans, potatoes, whole grains, vegetables, tofu, fruit, and simple sauces or seasonings.
Recipes I Actually Make
Some of the recipes here come straight from my own kitchen—the meals I make regularly because they’re simple, filling, and easy to repeat. I’ll also share recipes from plant-based cooks and creators I trust when I think they’re worth trying.
Keep It Simple
You don’t need a long ingredient list or complicated cooking techniques to eat well. Some of the best meals are the simplest—potatoes and vegetables, beans over whole grains, tofu with vegetables, a big salad, or a bowl built from whatever is already in the refrigerator.
Start With a Few Favorites
You don’t need dozens of recipes to make plant-based eating work. Find a handful of breakfasts, lunches, and dinners you really enjoy, learn how to make them well, and build from there.
Easy Meal Ideas
Keep It Practical
Plant-based eating works best when it fits your real life. You don’t need perfect meals, complicated recipes, or a different menu every day.
Build around a few meals you enjoy, keep useful staples on hand, and make eating well as easy as possible.
